The Festival of Trees has three goals:
- To develop support and appreciation of Big Bend Habitat through a community wide holiday event.
- To promote community volunteerism in support of Big Bend Habitat.
- To provide revenue to support the Big Bend Habitat for Humanity program
Dear Friend of Habitat:
From November 19th through November 21st, 50 beautifully decorated trees and a host of events, activities and attractions will transform the Tallahassee Leon Civic Center into an exciting holiday extravaganza to delight the holiday crowds.
The Second Annual Big Bend Habitat for Humanity Festival of Trees will be a holiday gift to our community and our signature fundraiser for the year. At Habitat for Humanity, our mission is to eliminate substandard housing by partnering with hardworking families in need.
We've been building houses with our family partners since 1982, an effort that has allowed 161families to achieve their dream of homeowners. Our family partners commit hundreds of hours in sweat equity toward building their own homes in order to become eligible to purchase their high quality homes at an affordable price.
They must also be financially able to qualify for Habitat's thirty-year, zero-interest mortgage. This would not be possible without the help of supporters like you who believe in our proven model of "a hand up, not a hand out. "
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to be an important part of the Big Bend Habitat for Humanity Festival of Trees by supporting this worthwhile cause. By becoming involved with the Festival of Trees, you will join a team of business partners, community leaders, and caring citizens who are dedicated to the well being of families in our area.
We have several levels of sponsorship opportunities, the benefits of which are detailed in the enclosed sponsorship package. Please take a moment to review this information and consider your support for this event. You can select the level of participation that best meets your needs, and be secure in the knowledge that your sponsorship fee will be used to help Big Bend Habitat for Humanity achieve our vision for a community that includes a safe, comfortable home for every Ifamily. The sponsorship package is also available on our website at: www.bigbendhabitat.org.
The Festival of Trees may only come once a year, but the magic of your generosity will continue to sparkle in the living legacy of our Habitat families. Thank you in advance for your willingness to make a difference in our community by supporting the efforts of Big Bend Habitat for Humanity.
